The Bingham Canyon Mine is located in Mount Oquim, southwest of Salt Lake City, Utah. The largest copper mine in the world, now over 100 years old, has a 4km wide open pit mine.


With a depth of nearly 1.2 kilometers and an area of 7.7 square kilometers, the mine is considered to be the largest artificially excavated cave in the world.
