The first railway designed by New China, the Chengdu-Chongqing Railway, was opened from Chengdu and arrived in Chongqing in the east, with a total length of 505 kilometers. On June 15, 1950, the Chengdu-Chongqing Railway commencement ceremony was held in Chengdu.
