Flight attendant Trivia:In 1979, China’s flight attendants did not return to the military.

In 1979, China’s civil aviation was separated from the Air Force. The Civil Aviation Administration of China recruited the first batch of flight attendants without military status from the society.

At the time of recruiting flight attendants in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangdong, Gansu, Sichuan, and Liaoning, the documents stipulated: “Enrollment conditions: born in the working people’s family, history is innocent, politically reliable, ideologically advanced, well-rounded, healthy (by airborne troops) Physical examination standard), height 1.60 meters to 1.68 meters, weight and height ratio; high school graduation education, a foreign language has a certain foundation; age is 17 to 20 years old. Recruitment methods: visual inspection, oral examination, written examination, physical examination, political examination. Assessment, merit-based admission.”

The recruitment was for the society. A total of 8,627 people were registered, 1532 people were qualified, and 160 flight attendants were selected.
