Studies have shown that twins are more likely to have language problems than their normal peers in early to mid-childhood. Their IQ at 7 years old is 7.4 points lower than other peers and 5.5 points lower at 9 years old. The researchers found that this was due to the mother’s shorter pregnancy and lower birth weight.
