A study of the population database in Utah, USA, records of maternal health between the early 19th century and the 1970s showed that women who gave birth to twins lived longer than mothers who gave birth to a singleton. The researchers hypothesized that mothers who gave birth to twins had more powerful genes, which helped to extend their lifespan.

Although twins do not directly increase women’s longevity, they are undoubtedly a sign of their powerful genes.
