Researchers at the university of Utah found that although women have a higher core body temperature than men, their hands are about 2.7° cooler.


When the temperature drops, blood vessels in the limbs of the body are the first to constrict. The gender difference in the cold response is still not fully understood, but may have a lot to do with differences in hormone levels and muscle mass, said Frederick wigley of Johns Hopkins university.
