King Abdullah University of Science and Technology in Saudi Arabia can be described as the most luxurious university in the world. It is located on the shore of the beautiful Red Sea. It covers an area of over 36 million square meters and has a total investment of approximately US$2.7 billion. It is the first international scientific research university in Saudi Arabia . It has the world’s top scientific research equipment and strong project funding support, and only recruits graduate students and doctoral students.
The university campus is located by the sea, about 80 kilometers north of the city of Jeddah. There are free buses to and from Jeddah’s major shopping malls and hospitals every day, as well as special lines to Mecca and Medina. The building area is more than 36 square kilometers (about 20,000 football fields), including a coral reef ecosystem that will be preserved as a marine reserve for the university for research. HOK Architects designs and builds the campus, Wilk Company and Jaffe Horton Vision are the visual consultants for the campus and the main lecture hall respectively.
The university campus has its own desalination plant to ensure the normal water demand of the campus. The campus also has two free gymnasiums, a golf course, and a diving club in the Red Sea for all students, professors, and employees.
