On April 22, in the Hong Kong Super League, the Eastern team defeated the South China team 2-1 and won the league championship ahead of schedule. Chen Wanting, the head coach of the Hong Kong Oriental Football Team, became the world’s first female football coach to lead a men’s football team to the top league championship, and won the Guinness World Records honorary certificate.
Although she is only 27 years old, Chen Wanting has served as an assistant coach in teams such as Pegasus in Tianshuiwei, Southern District, and has the qualifications of AFC A-level coach and futsal coach. She is the coach of the Hong Kong Football Association. In addition, Wanting Chen also holds a bachelor’s degree in geography and resource management from CUHK, and a master’s degree in sports medicine and health sciences.
